Because I was inspired by my previous post...
Dear You,
How I've missed my bibibuts.
I know you've been busy with all the employment shit and being a taxpayer but I'd like you to know that no matter how busy we are, we will always find time to show how we love each other. No matter how many crops I have to harvest and how many cultural buildings I have to build to make these fuckin people happy, LOVE will always find time. HAHA.
I texted you this morning. I said "I will love you everyday, Harvey" , to which you replied " And I will love you every millisecond." Being the competitive bitch you know that I am, I finished the conversation with "I love you every microsecond." We both know that there are a zillion other tinier fractions of a second. But you let me stop at microsecond. I love you for that - letting me win always. HAHA. You have a huge ego but when it comes to me, that ego shrinks. You set aside your inhibitions, your pride, everything just to make me happy. Waaaaah.
When I get back, I need some catching up to do. Andami ko na utang sa 'yo, bi. We will watch "Despicable Me" and for a week bear the mark of the movie by blurting out "It's so fluffy! I'm gonna die!" every chance we get. On the ride home, after the movie, you will hit me in the head and shout "PENDONG!" because a beetle passed by. (Gawd, Na-miss ko ang Pendong!) When we hit Feria, we will ride our favorite tricycle (the one with all those action figures and kung fu panda characters and the toy ipis and the toy bird balancing on its beak!) and say to the driver, "Townhomes po!". We will make the stop in front of our green gate but will not enter the house because we'll go straight to your brother's house and play with Chinna pala-udo. HAHA. Chinna will hit us with her toys but we will still wear our smiles big because she's our favorite niece! (I mean your niece. Nakikiagaw ako ng kamag-anak. haha)
The days after our despicable date will be unplanned. I don't want to map out things and keep track of everything. I want us to be spontaneous! Remember the time when we rode a bus from Philcoa to Moa because it was hot and we were tired walking. The bus passed by and we shot each other our devious smiles. We knew what we had to do. We had to watch "Eat Bulaga" on the bus! HAHA. That date was awesome. We went to Cartimar and sated our appetites for shoes! Tons of it! But you never bought a pair, because poor harvey got huge feet. :(
When I get back to my job and you start with yours, I know we will be shedding tears again. Living apart is sooooooo hard. But knowing that we will forever be in love and that we will see each other come vacation time gives us comfort. Because when everything is uncertain, we're sure of one thing: WE WILL LOVE EACH OTHER EVERY MICROSECOND!
I love you harvey. Always and forever.
With the hope you will shave when I get back,
me
About Me
This blog's intended to be an online journal of some sort where I post my ramblings and obsessions, where I share photos of my walks, where I tell you how awesome my day went or how crappy it was. No, this is not a diary because no matter how personal it gets here, I still have the liberty to keep to myself the names of the people I want dead.

Too Big a Head
Ay waw. Arrogant perverted freak. Threatening to quit his job if network doesn't fire one of his major detractors is truly befitting a big head whose accomplishments include giving away money on his noon-time show, all the while subjecting the contestants to ridicule. I've never been a fan of wowowee, I've never found it amusing, or funny even. I found myself feeling pity for the people on it, not because they're in dire need of the money, but because Willie makes it even hard for them to see beyond their situation. He makes them narrate their MMK-worthy stories and makes them cry on national TV. I'm not comfortable seeing that on TV, not my cup of tea. And then after telling their sad sad life stories, Willie makes them sing or dance and makes complete idiots out of them. The co-hosts don't help much too, the demeaning comments are coming and going, and the people on the show never notice it at all.
(Yes, that's for you, willie. A big X.)
ABS-CBN has made an awful lot of mistakes already, they should do good with this one.

OTH Nostalgia
I missed Lucas Scott. :( I missed by sleepless marathons. Elvy Abundo, thanks for lending me a copy of season 1 and making me believe in karma, in love, in waiting, and in the simple joys of life. It was my 3rd year in college when I started watching the wonderfully crafted episodes and crying after each one. They were really touching lives, folks. You can see yourself in one or two of the characters and for the struggles they face, you find yourself with them, but in your case the struggles are realities. You despise the villains so much that you beg for mercy from them, asking them to spare the protagonist, but you know too well that that's what they're made for, to make people's lives HELL-ish. What I love about the series, aside from the tear-jerking, true-love moments, are the literary excerpts at the beginning of each episode. But these add-ons seem to have diminished as the series progressed. I haven't noticed them in seasons 6 and 7 (of which 3 episodes I've watched). Nevertheless, it still never fails to tug at my heartstrings, making me laugh and cry at times.

I want to see seasons 1 to 6 again. Nathan-Haley, I've never once thought of your scenes as overly cheesy. Always and Forever is still the most endearing thing to say, at least for me. <3

Playboy 69
I went to Cubao yesterday because I want to have my plane tickets to Puerto Princesa refunded. It was wishful thinking, actually because I was fully aware of the possibility that the tickets are non-refundable since I booked the flights at promo prices. But since I will not be in Manila for the mid of May until end of July, I will not be enjoying the would-be wonderful Palawan experience. Haaaay. And I also needed money, that is why I wanted the refund badly. :((((( Lesson learned: Never book flights just because they're on sale. Book after you've decided you really want to go, even if the promo fares' not available anymore.
So after a momentary depression, we got out the PAL ticketing office and went to Cubao Expo. It was my 2nd time to go there and I still am fascinated by the place. There are a lot of unique shops - bead shop, art gallery, bar, authentic italian resto, and of course, antique collectibles. I went on to buy a pair of earrings made of safety pins! Yes, folks, the ingenuity of these people, making earrings and fancy brooches out of the neglected pins. I love it! haha.
And then, I bought a 1969 issue of Playboy magazine. The content: SIMPLY AMAZING. The amount of information you could get from the mag makes you want to burp out of literary content and intellectual satisfaction. There are short stories, witty jokes and comics strip, an article about Gore Vidal (the great author, playwright, essayist and screenwriter), a spread about De Sade (a movie about the great Marquis de Sade and his sexual adventures and philosophy), and the Playboy forum (an interchange of ideas between reader and editor on subjects raised by the "Playboy Philosophy"). And it was surprising to know that professors write to Playboy expressing their appreciation because they use the magazine as reference material in their lectures. I mean, really, the ton of information one can absorb from it is really overwhelming. It was also interesting to note that some people also write to Playboy to express their grievances. One particular letter I have noted, reflected the harsh repercussions for the use/possession/selling of pot back in those days,
"Having been convicted of selling five dollars' worth of marijuana seeds and stems to an informer, I am currently serving a 20-30 year sentence in the state prison of Southern Michigan, near Jackson...
... I believe that my real crime was a column I wrote for a Detroit underground newspaper, The Warren Forrest Sun. The column was called "Dope-O-Scope" and in it I presented scientific facts about marijuana to counter the mythology circulated by the narcotics bureau." ,
Larry Belcher
And there are about 3 more letters documenting the complaints of the writer regarding the harsh treatment surrounding pot. These people write to Playboy as the magazine is a beacon of light in liberal thoughts and is a great informer to the people. And during those times when society limits the people, some of these people find comfort in Playboy. Wow, right. This makes me want to go find some more old issues and trace the evolution of the great magazine. Hugh Hefner is a genius!
and the 1969 issue : 269 pages of kick-ass substance!
Note: "In an editorial in the December 1962 issue of Playboy magazine, Hugh M. Hefner wrote the first installment of what has become known as the Playboy Philosophy. While the study of sexuality and politics has taken a postmodern turn since the Playboy Philosophy was first promulgated, the Playboy Philosophy presents a manifesto on politics and governance that reflects a modern age vision. The Playboy Philosophy is premised on arguments about the fundamental nature of man, the inalienability of rights, the desirability of democracy, and a plea for the use of reason in convincing others to recognize the truths about humanity and governance. The modernist sensibility of the Playboy Philosophy is ironic since it was at one time a harbinger of sexual liberation. Yet in an age in which ideas about both sexuality and politics reflect a turn towards social constructions, notions of both sexual liberation and political liberty indicate new thinking about what constitutes individual and societal freedom." <http://www.allacademic.com/meta/p317120_index.html>

Uncertainty
You know the feeling after college graduation when you'd want to hit the books again because looking for a job and thinking of the future is so unnerving and unnatural? Well, I'm experiencing that now. I know very well that university life has trained me to survive in the real world but the difference between out there and inside the confines of the university is so startling, it makes you want to play it safe and bum around.
In college, I've learned that if I study well in an exam and do all my requirements, I should expect to have that subject aced (unless there's something wrong with the professor). Yes, the predictability of everything comforts me. College provides a sterile environment where karma never goes out of fashion. Outside college, however, you cannot expect the same predictability. Yes, the monotony is broken and everything seems more spontaneous. But spontaneous cannot always be a good thing. What if your boss just doesn't like you and even though you've worked hard as hell, he just wouldn't notice?! I mean, you have no control over what's going to happen unlike in college where you get to decide when to skip sleep if the situation (e.g. Midterms the next day) calls for it. You can't just drop a task (as opposed to a subject) when you don't feel like doing it anymore. And you can't simply ditch work days (as opposed to classes, depending on who's teaching) just because you want to stay in bed longer.
Maybe my reasons are just plain shallow and overly immature. I'm just anxious and a bit afraid to be on my own. And I miss college already! :(
Perfume
http://www.mcnblogs.com/filmfatale/Perfume500.jpg
Wow! The film really got me in all uppity and then afterwards, depression. It was amazing and I can't wait to get hold of the book. It tells the story of Jean-Baptiste Grenouille who was an olfactory genius whose nose knows all the best smells in the world. Murdering virgins and preserving their scents (pheromones, basically) is no easy task. But driven by a great desire to preserve the fleeting smell of everything, Grenouille went on with his craft (making perfumes out of humans). His experience would later teach him that he could enslave the whole world if he wanted to but... "there was only one thing the perfume could not do. It could not turn him into a person who could love and be loved like everyone else. So, to hell with it he thought. To hell with the world. With the perfume. With himself." <sigh> What a tragedy. :(((((
Future
I had my pre-employment medical exam last thursday and I'm almost through with it if not for my poo(for the fecalysis) and my X-ray. I have to come back for the sample but that day should fall on my period para isang lakad na lang. I didn't actually know the reason why they're not allowing me to have my Xray taken just because my period was supposed to be due friday and I have to wait for it first. I thought about it, really. And it came to me that for the Xray to be taken, it has to be just me (and not with the baby, if I'm preggers, since it may result to some complications). So I'm still waiting for my period until now. And no, I'm not pregnant.
I just want to be done with all the pre-employment shit so I can start with my job already. I hope they tell us now when we'll be starting at the site so I can prepare my farewells. Hinde yung sorpresa. Anxious but looking forward to my first day. I want to earn bucks really soon because I'm tired of this frugal living. It's stressing me out! :)
Work during the day, then review at night (since the board exam's on August).Wish me luck!

Fireworks
Kaya when I've heard about this Pyromusical, I knew that we have got to go! It was amazing, really. The sky was painted with a variety of colors and there we were, looking up at it with our hands held, appreciating the bursts of light. (Sigh)... It was romantic but more than that, it was surreal.
We bought like four 150mL Close-up tubes and had the cartons exchanged for 2 tickets. The events practically free since you'll still be using the toothpaste you bought. We sat by the mall steps and bought DQ from the stall nearby. We were like kids watching a magic show all the while wondering "how in the world did they do it?"
Formal Dinner
Last Saturday was our dorm's formal dinner. Of course, I brought my boyfriend as my date. Remembering 2 years back, we were just starting to know each other and I would have asked him out for that year's formal dinner if not for my conservative inhibitions. haha... I had him attend the dormitory's open house and we were seriously flirting back then. We even had this bet on who's going to buy lunch for that day. Gawd, I knew we were already so in love. I guess I just needed more time. More time for what? I don't know. Maybe I needed a sign that everything is right in place. What's weird is that I even toldhim that I didn't like him anymore just as our romance was blossoming. Maybe I just had some weird mood swing because truthfully, what I didn't like was just his freaking shoulder-length hair. haha. He cried and cried that fateful day and he didn't know that all he needed was a barber. I was "slipping away", he said, as he was singing the Cynthia Alexander song.
When I look back on those things, I laugh simply because I was so childish then.
I should have written about the formal dinner last Saturday. But I've written all the past memories that came with it. Similarly, I guess when you think of that special someone, you don't really see him in the picture but you see the entirety of the past flashing across you, the present tagging along, and hopefully the future silhouetting itself in your mind--- all these spent with him. :)))))))

Ponderings
I’m nibbling a peanut butter sandwich right now. I try to preoccupy myself by thinking of the spread stuck on the roof of my mouth. I try to listen to “Starbucks presents late night jazz” and try to relate to the songs until I get absorbed by the soothing tunes and eventually become but a tiny, insignificant and unnoticed aberration in the vast range of musical notes.
I do not wish to feel important. I went unnoticed for most of my adolescent years and I could certainly go on further without feeling (and filling) the need to become associated with someone.
I enjoy the simple pleasures of solitude and self-acquaintance.
I love a good read with a cup of coffee and an occasional glance at the people around me.
I guess life cannot maintain that simplicity. You have to experience all sorts of twists and turns to be able to experience it.

No one could dispute the fact that one could not remain innocent forever. There is a bridge to cross. That bridge may look wobbly and may frighten you with creaking sounds as you start to tread on it. You have doubts whether crossing it would do you good. But still, you go on with it. There is no turning back. Once you get to the other side, you say to yourself that it will be as if nothing happened. But truth is, you’ve changed inside. The image at opposite end of the bridge is beginning to blur and you try to hold on to the bits of memorabilia you have brought along with you.

Everything, back then, has to be in line with theory. Ideal, in other words. I thought there was nothing wrong with wanting things to go your own way, with wishing that the star-shaped mold would work to give you a star-shaped cookie.
Well, honey, I guess molds just apply to cookies…and a bunch of other non-metaphysical stuffs.
-x-x
I’m sorry these words cannot spill out of my mouth as simple as they click away with each push of a key.

All hail Jessica Zafra!
My own theory of devolutionAfter our supposed-to-be artstud class (sir kept us waiting..waaah!!), I went to the educ lib to find Sputnik Sweetheart, that Murakami book that I kept raving about in the past. To my dismay, it was for room use only and was located in the "Reading for Pleasure" corner... I leafed through it since I can't take it home and began reading a few paragraphs. I didn't pay attention to the page numbers and so I found myself on page23 and I can't seem to put it down. But I really have to go to my freakin' computer programming class so I left. I went back after class and saw that the book wasn't there anymore. It was with some stranger and he seemed too attached that he wouldn't put it down. Waaah! I instead took a Jessica Zafra book, Womanagerie. You can never go wrong with a Zafra book. Haha.. I couldn't stop smiling. The guy (with dreadlocks, by the way, and a meter in front of whom I've humiliated myself with later on by being so tactless and saying that he's not my type but I love his hair.. darn!) beside me seemed annoyed. But what the heck. Let me share to you one of her articles in what seemed to be one hell of a great read... I really could relate to this.. There's no denying it. XD

See, I have this theory about alcohol. The more you drink, the lower you go down the evolutionary ladder. When you start swigging the vodka (or the poison of your choice), you're recognizably human. A few shots later, the change begins.
Your vision blurs. The room appears to be spinning. Slowly, at first, then you feel like you're inside a blender with some oranges and ice. Your face feels lopsided, and you ask your drinking companions if one side of your face is larger than the other. And when you have to go to the bathroom, walking upright makes you nauseous. You sort of slouch over with your arms down to your knees and do an ape-like shuffle... And that's when you've gone APE. Monkey. Simian. You've just rejoined our distant relatives.
But you don't stop drinking, nonono. What, and be a spoilsport? You go on swilling the drink of depressed Russians, the stuff they imbibe because it takes so long to line up for Coke. Soon, you can't even stay on your feet anymore. Your legs turn into vestigial appendages (meaning they're there but you can't use them). And if you have to travel to another part of the room, you crawl over. You slither on your hands and stomach. You even make a cursing noise that resembles hissing. Bingo. You're in the REPTILE stage.
If you're normally the talkative, hyperverbal sort, you will find that imbibing alcohol not only loosens your tongue, but charges it electrically. First there is a noticeable rise in the volume of your voice. Soon you've got a built-in megaphone. Not only do you insult your friends in a voice that carries all the way to the next block, but you also reveal your darkest secrets to people you just met two hours ago. You stop talking and you start speechifying. You get pompous. Eventually you stop making sense. A sure sign that you've devolved to the POLITICIAN level, a stage closely related to reptiles particularly crocodiles (buwaya). It is here that you are at your most obnoxious.
Fortunately the politician stage passes, although the duration varies from person to person. Some verbose types can go on for hours, in which case it is necessary to force feed them several kilos of polvoron (a very effective mouth sealant). On the other hand, you could tape everything they say, and make some bucks through good old honest blackmail.
You keep on drinking, and the alcohol content of your blood continues to rise. Your brains are getting pickled. If you should insist upon driving yourself home, you will make things really easy for the mortuary people. They wouldn't have to embalm you anymore, they can just stick you in a jar and put you under bright lights for your grieving relatives. You can't even crawl anymore, so in your warped state of mind, you attempt to swim on the floor. This is either the Sammy the Sperm phase, in which you regress to the time you were racing several thousand other sperm cells to reach that egg, or the FISH phase, fish being lower down the food chain.
Soon your body refuses to take any more pickling, and goes to sleep on you. You pass out on whatever surface you happen to be on. Hopefully you land on a surface that is not conducive to pneumonia. (This is why you must make sure friends are present when you drink. If you get smashed, you can be reasonably sure they won't leave you on the street to get run over by a truck.). When you've lost consciousness, you've gone as far down the evolutionary ladder as you can. You're not even a living organism anymore, you're a ROCK.
The next morning, the process of evolution starts up again. You wake up, and you ask. "How did I get here? Where am I? What's my name?" Your mouth tastes like toxic waste, battery acid, or something that you forgot to put in the refrigerator that developed green spots. Your head is being bludgeoned at regular intervals with an invisible bag of shot.
You mouth vile things - you're a politician. You crawl toward the bathroom - you're a reptile. You stand on your legs to reach the sink - you're a monkey. You throw up, and between heaves, you swear never to touch The Vodka from Hell again. You're making resolutions you know you won't keep - Congratulations, you're human again.

Longest Hour
The longest hour in your life comes when you become stuck in a nauseating non-airconditioned bus, on the edge of your sanity, on the verge of pissing and pooping, and on the thin line drawn between wishing to just die there and then, and actually dying.
Yesterday, I was on the bus for a 5-hour trip from Alaminos, Pangasinan to Manila . Thirty minutes passed and I felt like I was shivering. Cold sweat trickled down my face and then there it was… That tingling sensation in my guts… Fucking shit and a half!!! Why now?!?
I thought I’d have control over it. Like an innocent stranger in some torture chamber, I mustered all my strength to endure this fucked-up state for another 30 minutes. I crouched forward and leaned my head on the seat in front , tucked my stomach in, closed my eyes, pretended to be asleep, and cursed under my breath… P.I.!!!
I was actually considering the fact of just dropping off somewhere and finding some “place of comfort”. But when I turned my head to face the window, all I could see is green! Shit! There is no way I’m gonna drop shit in these wastelands!
I returned to my crouched state and the next time I opened my eyes, SIBILISASYON! Mangataren, Pangasinan. I told Kuya to pull over and clearly without hesitation, I told him, “Najejebs na po ako eh!”… He got to the compartment and lowered my backpack. I left it beside some unknowing candy vendor and asked him where I could poop. God was truly hearing me out. There I saw public restrooms painted green and found myself sighing with relief.
Tissues! I needed tissues! And whadyaknow, toiletry products were sold outside the restroom. I grabbed a handful of neatly folded ones when Ate blurted out, “Miss, piso isa nyan!” I was thinking at that moment, “Ate, even if you sell those for a hundred apiece, I’d still buy BECAUSE I BADLY NEED THEM!”
I finally let it all out with ever shaking knees and friggin’ relief. I got out and paid for the tissues and the additional fee for pooping and splashed on some alcohol. I went back to the candy vendor to find out that my bag wasn’t with him anymore!
And then I saw the bus… My bus… And I saw my bag!
Kuya, I love you na! You’ve waited for some lady to finish pooping. What a heroic act!
First thing I need to do when I get back to manila is to have a monument built after you…
P.S. When the bus pulled over for a stop at Tarlac, I hurriedly got out and searched for a store to buy some Loperamide and a bottle of Gatorade. And then when I was about to pay… 97 pesos?! For a teeny weeny capsule and some Gatorade?! Fuck! But I’m left with no choice other than paying for the stuff and cursing the store owner under my breath…
ABUSO NA!

Bolinao Express
I'm in pangasinan right now. Yup. My who-the-hell-cares attitude and my thick amphibious skin got me here in the first place. Imagine, we went to Bolinao which is almost 2 hours away from where we're (Cesar and I) staying and all I got with me is Cesar's blue body bag containing sunblock, a change of underwear, deo, my phone and my wallet. I was already clad in a bikini beneath my purple top and black shorts for time-saving purposes... XD
We got on the bus, not knowing where and when to tell manong driver to pull over and drop us off.. When Ces asked me where the fuck we were, I told him with an irritated look in my eyes- "NOWHERE. WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE." The travel was tough. I had a big box of unknown stuff between my legs (care of the dorky girl beside me) and had a pineapple sprite float profusely wetting my left hand.
Taken from our EVER interesting conversation on the bus:
CES: "Haggard na ba?" MOI: "Super haggard! Zigzag* EVER!"
CES: "Kadiri mga ktabi ko... eeeewww... Malagkit ung skin. EVER."
MOI: "For friggin' Pete's sake, stop being a sissy!"
(*- referring to the scarily one-slightly-wrong-turn-and-we're-dead zigzag road en route to bolinao...)
And so when we saw the "Welcome to Bolinao" signboard, we got off the bus with that bewildered look on our faces and really got a "warm" welcome from the tricycle drivers pushing each other aside to take us as passengers. Shit. Just pure haggardness. We got on the tryk with the driver who had the lowest bid (yup, 30 pesos) and had him decide on where to drop us off. Yeah we were daredevils. Living life on the edge and entrusting it to a manong driver.. Good luck..)
We got off at some "Rock Garden Beach Resort" and all our efforts were paid off. The beach was okay but what topped it off were the exotic animals in their mini-zoo.. There was a wide variety of fowls that had nothing more to say than a well-practiced "PANGET!" and "PANGET KA!". Yeah, just the thing we need after a life-threatening and exhausting travel. But what the hell?!? It's not everyday that I get to do this stuff.
I took of my shirt and swam while cesar had a chat with a long lost friend. Of all the places he could meet up with Noreen (whom he hasn't seen and lost contact for almost 2 years since their botany class), why Bolinao? And why on Rock Garden Resort? Freakin' amazing , right?!
After some "bastusan" encounters with some tambays, after a long wait at the bus stop, and after some gastrocnemius-enlargening long distance walking, we finally reached Cesar's house. I already called it a day but to our surprise, cesar's mom and Honey were still not home. If I call our Bolinao trip EXTREME, theirs was an even more extreme trip. XD
P.S. Tita and Honey went home at 12 midnight. WTF?!? (We played "PARENTS" that night and actually had our minds preoccupied with worry. Add to that so much stress from that freakin' trip.)
P.P.S. This stupid computer (in this stupid hole-in-the-wall net shop) is fuckin' slow!! Snail-paced!! Gonna post the photos soon...XD)

The Greatest
I love dear old Pop… While others are blaming me for being the dumbest person alive and for not having noticed that my phone was snatched from my bag pocket, he was telling me all along that I should regulate my strolling and shopping sprees and keep away from these robbery-prone areas… I didn’t hear him nag about how stupid I was or how easily I gave away money by losing that phone… He dialed my roommate’s number to tell me that I’ve changed a lot from being the homebody (he used to know) to being the great traveler that I’ve become… He told me that he’d send money right away… I said I still have my wallet intact; I just lost a phone and I haven’t transferred several photos in it to my laptop. I heard him chuckle. He told me to stay at home while I don’t have a phone to show off to the robbers. I let out a big, big smile. My roommate stared at me with awe. She was thinking from the instant that she handed me her phone (to take the call) that I’ll be nagged to death and belittled. We shared that thought. I’d be scolded to pieces, turn red and suddenly burst. But I was wrong. Roommate was wrong. He was always right.
And he will always be.
___________________________________________________________________________
P.S. I know I’ve been stupid. I just don’t want people telling me that it’s my fault. For freakin’ God’s sake, I didn’t tell the thief “Zip open the smaller pocket and take the fuckin’ phone!”. So simply shut the fuck up. Your nagging won’t bring me back my phone. And another thing: Don’t pretend that you’re kind and that you care by consoling me. I hate being consoled.

CUMMINGTONITE
Just so you know. There is such a mineral named cummingtonite. Hell yeah! I’m not kidding. Just this morning when we were in mineralogy class -freezing our asses off at the NIGS AVR and waiting till the clock strikes 1:00- one of the lecture presentation slides caught my (short-spanned) attention. There it was. CUMMINGTONITE.Magnesium Iron trisilicate. (Mg,Fe)7Si8O22(OH)2. My face turned blank, then exploded into an annoyingly flushed one accompanied by a sudden burst of laughter. And then the whole class got my cue and began laughing too. F**k! I didn’t see that one coming. Although I know that a mineral’s name is derived from the locality from where it was first seen, I’m still wondering what cummingtonite looks like… And I’ve come to realize: my attention span is not that short after all…
