About Me

My photo
ella. twenty-one. everything on impulse.
This blog's intended to be an online journal of some sort where I post my ramblings and obsessions, where I share photos of my walks, where I tell you how awesome my day went or how crappy it was. No, this is not a diary because no matter how personal it gets here, I still have the liberty to keep to myself the names of the people I want dead.

Jumpshots!

Camwhores Jan and Jen had tons of energy to jump, pose, contort, smile, lie on itchy grass, and fit bodies into cramped spaces. Nina served as the director/taga-mando. haha. It was late but still they've got energy so we had a jumpshot competition -mark-kite vs. nina-jen.

Photos from Baguio

The photos from my previous posts were corrupted so I had to upload these again. My D60 is barely a month old but I've used it too many times already and it's a real handy pal in my strolls. More photos to come! :)

artsy fancy weapon of choice
string of beads of colors and textures. of seashells and wood. of circles and globes.

Guardian of the mighty barrel men

dreamcatchers. never really had a test run.
poor frog. rich frog. keeper of wealth. guardian of coins.
I know I wore these during kindergarten graduation rites.

Solitude seems most apt.
And now I will stand and launch these paper planes in flight.

Realizations

After meditating much here in this faraway land during nights when there is nothing left to do, I've realized a few things. No, these are not profound and truly original insights. You may have experienced them already, long ago. But me, after college graduation, fate has  given me all the time in the world. haha. and on nights when I don't drink, I contemplate. But contemplating while drinking is much more fun and productive.

1. The internet keeps you sane. When there is nothing left to do, just a few clicks on your mouse and you'll have a freaking good time. There are a lot of great blogs where you could get tips on working out your long distance relationship, on being wais, or on surviving a dead boyfriend (no folks, I don't relate to this. I just sympathize with someone who lost a soulmate. I wish to be around mine, till we are both senile and grey and deaf), or on cooking 30-minute meals. You could also learn a lot on the web. My recent obsessions revolve around mind control, and the inner workings of the brain. I found these sites extremely useful and informative ==> www.spring.org.uk/2007/11/10-piercing-insights-into-human-nature.php and www.wired.com/wiredscience/frontal-cortex/

And how could I not mention fashion blogs! take your pick: bryanboy, hanneli, tavi, jane, wendy, sartorialist.

2. Alcohol, as everyone already knows, is a momentary distraction. with a couple of good friends, and an interesting conversation, you're all set for a great all-nighter. The next day, when you're at work and your head throbs with pain, and you drink lots of water to drown out the hangover, you will regret not downing enough chaser. but you will never regret spending  investing time with good buddies. You'll bet those will be nights you will never remember with the people you will never forget.

3. Facebook sucks. You find yourself checking your notifications every 5 minutes. And you'll find your FB friends' updates really egotistic and pathetic and you end up hiding all their posts. When you can't take it anymore, you delete the "friend". Easy peasy.

4. Email exchanges with a good friend is therapeutic. N and I have been emailing everyday since I started working and it really has helped me a lot with my everyday depression. haha. Sometimes we talk about deep shit. and on other days, it can be as shallow as the VS fashion show. We realized how there are so many overlaps in our internet lives. We send each other interesting links and comment on each others' photo edits. I love you N! :)

5. And lastly, blogging is therapeutic. enough said. <3

Photo 1: Puerto Galera. August 2009. Went there for the long weekend. Snorkeled, drank, ate too many fish dishes, threw up after snorkeling, fed the fish with vomit. Good times. :) A friend brought along a bottle of cuervo. And no it wasn't even full. or close to being half-full. It was a measly shotglass amount. And I drank it all up. And I ran to the waves. And pressed my skin against the sand. and laid under the heavens. :)

Photo 2: Parking lot beside the Aldaba hall. UP Diliman. Went out with H on a stroll around the campus.

Photo 3. UP lagoon. That tree gave me the creeps. Those tendrils (?) could run around your neck and lead you to the trunk and feed you to Eywa. wtf.

ED

The willpower not to eat when you're already starving to death.

Click the link above and you'd want to have something to eat right now. Eating disorders and body dysmorphia. Looking in the mirror and seeing some ugly fat lady when you're barely 80lbs. Playing the who's-thinner-now game. Deceiving others. Deceiving yourself. (sigh)

T(went)eenage Dream

I want to be a hippie,hitch-hike across Europe, get a tat, be a junkie. I want to live (er, deconstruct my life). haha. I think I'm too young to be working. I want to be outdoorsy and get my skin burnt (as if it's not). Go backpacking across Indochina, island-hopping in Palawan, zipping in Bora. haha. I want to hit the beach again! I want ink on my back, running down my spine area (like Tuesday's). haaay haaay. Frustrations of a 6-6er, (yes folks, 9-5ers are so last century).

Yes. Very high-fashion hippie at that!

Shit it is!

Shit. It's there all along and you know it. Yet you still force yourself to take it in. Until it strikes you like a tiny mini-dollop of brownish yellow fluid oozing out of your favorite isaw ! HA!

So I was in UP yesterday because H has got to have some of his credentials photocopied for his job interview. While waiting for him to finish his to-dos, I made tambay at the isawan at the back of SC. I bought several sticks of chicken and pork entrails (?!ha!) and found a shady spot nearby where I could eat. I've read somewhere that the bitter aftertaste of isaw is actually due to fecal matter. Of course I was affected by the article. I vowed not to eat isaw ever again. But like a diet plan you could only stick to for so long, isaw easily found its way into my palate again. Haaaay.

Zooming out and looking at the bigger picture, everyone of us takes all the shit that we can take until we could take it no more. Until it begins oozing out and we see it for what it really is. We wouldn't believe anything till we see it with our own eyes. Knowing already what it is, we seek out evidence because we want to prove ourselves wrong. What a pity. Or maybe I'm just overanalyzing because GAWD, thinking about that blob of crap I ate makes me want to throw up. Waaaaaaaaaaah!

Ella's lettter to the man she will love every microsecond

Because I was inspired by my previous post...

Dear You,

How I've missed my bibibuts.

I know you've been busy with all the employment shit and being a taxpayer but I'd like you to know that no matter how busy we are, we will always find time to show how we love each other. No matter how many crops I have to harvest and how many cultural buildings I have to build to make these fuckin people happy, LOVE will always find time. HAHA.

I texted you this morning. I said "I will love you everyday, Harvey" , to which you replied " And I will love you every millisecond." Being the competitive bitch you know that I am, I finished the conversation with "I love you every microsecond." We both know that there are a zillion other tinier fractions of a second. But you let me stop at microsecond. I love you for that - letting me win always. HAHA. You have a huge ego but when it comes to me, that ego shrinks. You set aside your inhibitions, your pride, everything just to make me happy. Waaaaah.

When I get back, I need some catching up to do. Andami ko na utang sa 'yo, bi. We will watch "Despicable Me" and for a week bear the mark of the movie by blurting out "It's so fluffy! I'm gonna die!" every chance we get. On the ride home, after the movie, you will hit me in the head and shout "PENDONG!" because a beetle passed by. (Gawd, Na-miss ko ang Pendong!) When we hit Feria, we will ride our favorite tricycle (the one with all those action figures and kung fu panda characters and the toy ipis and the toy bird balancing on its beak!) and say to the driver, "Townhomes po!". We will make the stop in front of our green gate but will not enter the house because we'll go straight to your brother's house and play with Chinna pala-udo. HAHA. Chinna will hit us with her toys but we will still wear our smiles big because she's our favorite niece! (I mean your niece. Nakikiagaw ako ng kamag-anak. haha)

The days after our despicable date will be unplanned. I don't want to map out things and keep track of everything. I want us to be spontaneous! Remember the time when we rode a bus from Philcoa to Moa because it was hot and we were tired walking. The bus passed by and we shot each other our devious smiles. We knew what we had to do. We had to watch "Eat Bulaga" on the bus! HAHA. That date was awesome. We went to Cartimar and sated our appetites for shoes! Tons of it! But you never bought a pair, because poor harvey got huge feet. :(

When I get back to my job and you start with yours, I know we will be shedding tears again. Living apart is sooooooo hard. But knowing that we will forever be in love and that we will see each other come vacation time gives us comfort. Because when everything is uncertain, we're sure of one thing: WE WILL LOVE EACH OTHER EVERY MICROSECOND!

I love you harvey. Always and forever.

With the hope you will shave when I get back,

me
