About Me

My photo
ella. twenty-one. everything on impulse.
This blog's intended to be an online journal of some sort where I post my ramblings and obsessions, where I share photos of my walks, where I tell you how awesome my day went or how crappy it was. No, this is not a diary because no matter how personal it gets here, I still have the liberty to keep to myself the names of the people I want dead.

Photos from Baguio

The photos from my previous posts were corrupted so I had to upload these again. My D60 is barely a month old but I've used it too many times already and it's a real handy pal in my strolls. More photos to come! :)

artsy fancy weapon of choice
string of beads of colors and textures. of seashells and wood. of circles and globes.

dreamcatchers. never really had a test run.
poor frog. rich frog. keeper of wealth. guardian of coins.
I know I wore these during kindergarten graduation rites.

Solitude seems most apt.
And now I will stand and launch these paper planes in flight.

Realizations

After meditating much here in this faraway land during nights when there is nothing left to do, I've realized a few things. No, these are not profound and truly original insights. You may have experienced them already, long ago. But me, after college graduation, fate has  given me all the time in the world. haha. and on nights when I don't drink, I contemplate. But contemplating while drinking is much more fun and productive.

1. The internet keeps you sane. When there is nothing left to do, just a few clicks on your mouse and you'll have a freaking good time. There are a lot of great blogs where you could get tips on working out your long distance relationship, on being wais, or on surviving a dead boyfriend (no folks, I don't relate to this. I just sympathize with someone who lost a soulmate. I wish to be around mine, till we are both senile and grey and deaf), or on cooking 30-minute meals. You could also learn a lot on the web. My recent obsessions revolve around mind control, and the inner workings of the brain. I found these sites extremely useful and informative ==> www.spring.org.uk/2007/11/10-piercing-insights-into-human-nature.php and www.wired.com/wiredscience/frontal-cortex/

And how could I not mention fashion blogs! take your pick: bryanboy, hanneli, tavi, jane, wendy, sartorialist.

2. Alcohol, as everyone already knows, is a momentary distraction. with a couple of good friends, and an interesting conversation, you're all set for a great all-nighter. The next day, when you're at work and your head throbs with pain, and you drink lots of water to drown out the hangover, you will regret not downing enough chaser. but you will never regret spending  investing time with good buddies. You'll bet those will be nights you will never remember with the people you will never forget.

3. Facebook sucks. You find yourself checking your notifications every 5 minutes. And you'll find your FB friends' updates really egotistic and pathetic and you end up hiding all their posts. When you can't take it anymore, you delete the "friend". Easy peasy.

4. Email exchanges with a good friend is therapeutic. N and I have been emailing everyday since I started working and it really has helped me a lot with my everyday depression. haha. Sometimes we talk about deep shit. and on other days, it can be as shallow as the VS fashion show. We realized how there are so many overlaps in our internet lives. We send each other interesting links and comment on each others' photo edits. I love you N! :)

5. And lastly, blogging is therapeutic. enough said. <3

Photo 1: Puerto Galera. August 2009. Went there for the long weekend. Snorkeled, drank, ate too many fish dishes, threw up after snorkeling, fed the fish with vomit. Good times. :) A friend brought along a bottle of cuervo. And no it wasn't even full. or close to being half-full. It was a measly shotglass amount. And I drank it all up. And I ran to the waves. And pressed my skin against the sand. and laid under the heavens. :)

Photo 2: Parking lot beside the Aldaba hall. UP Diliman. Went out with H on a stroll around the campus.

Photo 3. UP lagoon. That tree gave me the creeps. Those tendrils (?) could run around your neck and lead you to the trunk and feed you to Eywa. wtf.
